| Security check at the Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport. | VietNamNet Bridge – Experts of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) are inspecting Vietnam’s aviation security. The inspection started from June 11 and lasts today, June 13, 2007. ICAO inspection focuses on books, security equipments, and aircrafts of Vietnam. In the first two days, ICAO experts worked with the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam and some airports management agencies of Vietnam. On the last day, June 13, they will survey the operations of all airlines offering flights in Vietnam. ICAO will evaluate aviation security of Vietnam based on the inspection results and will give recommendations and requests to Vietnam. According to an official of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, this organisation’s aviation security and safety certificate is very valuable. In March 2005, ICAO conducted aviation security inspection in Vietnam and asked Vietnam to upgrade some airports and install some new equipment. This is the second time this organisation checking and re-evaluating how Vietnam has performed its recommendations before. (Source: VNE) |
